Louise Bowman received her masters in Nutrition and Acupuncture in 1998 from Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. She opened a private practice in Collegeville, Pennsylvania where she practiced for three years before moving her practice to Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. She worked at Steiner Medical and Therapeutic Center, an integrative medical office, for four years working with doctors, physical therapists and massage therapists. There she treated patients with acute and chronic pain, allergies and food sensitivities, cancer, infertility, high blood pressure and cholesterol, weight loss and smoking cessation. In 2005, she married and moved to the Pocono region but continued to practice in Phoenixville two days per week until June 2006. At this time, she started working with a local acupuncturist, Eva Berend, in East Stroudsburg. She worked in her office for six months before opening Wellspring East in January 2007.
In 2003, Louise decided that she wanted to deepen her personal yoga practice and so she began a yearlong certification program at Yoga Living in Devon, Pennsylvania. She studied Hatha yoga with a concentration on yoga philosophy. Upon completion of her certification she started teaching vinyasa flow and pre-natal yoga classes. In March 2006, she held her first yoga class at Wellspring Holistic Center. Her class has slowly evolved from a more vigorous vinyasa style to a slower, meditative style focusing on proper alignment and strength.
